Mr. Giblin's Club/Jocko's Rocket Ship/Blue Velvet

430 W. Gilman St.
Jocko's Rocket Ship - Named after a popular 1950s radio show.
Douglas "Jocko" Henderson was one of radio's first rhythm and blues disc jockeys. He started in Baltimore in 1950, moved to Philadelphia and finally to New York, where he hosted a "Soul Train"-like TV music and dance show that was called "Jocko's Rocket Ship." One of Boot's original partners in the bar was a fan of the show and suggested the name.
