Michael was killed in the Capitol collapse. Reported missing, a search was made and he was
found in a horribly mangled position. He did not die until after he was removed from the
rubble. He was a well-known German mason, and lived at 743 Williamson Street. His son
Matthew (buried at
Resurrection Cemetery) was also injured, but
survived.
