Vilas Family – Section 31

This is the largest monument in Forest Hill Cemetery. Made in Vermont by the       Vermont Granite Company. Total Weight 60 tons, the shaft alone weighs 40 tons. The shaft is 32 feet high and 3.5 feet each side of the bottom. The Largest base block is 10 feet each side. To move it from the railroad station, tracks were laid in sections, alternating the       sections from behindto the front as it moved.
