Fire Station Renamed to honor Dr. Darren Bean, its former medical director who died in a Med Flight helicopter crash outside La Crosse on May 10, 2008. The 37-year-old Bean had been a Med Flight doctor for six years.

The helicopter was from the UW Hospital. It had dropped off its patient in La Crosse and was returning when it crashed. Also killed in the May 10 crash were nurse Mark Coyne and pilot Steve Lipperer.
