April 1980 – Madison, WI – Unsolved
The body of Susan LeMahieu was found lying in the weeds near the
UW Arboretum about 150 feet from a parking lot. A 1974
graduate of
Madison’s East High, Susan was mildly retarded and
physically handicapped. While she had been reported missing on Dec. 15, 1979 police did not initially
suspect foul play and had considered the possibility that she had run off or was wandering around
confused as a result of her disabilities. An autopsy determined that she had died as a result of
multiple stab wounds to the chest.

On November 6, 1966 two of Susan's brothers, Douglas (6) and William (4) suffocated in an
abandoned refrigerator in the basement of the LeMahieu home at
1309 Cherry Ave.
