Street Quest
Produced by Benson Gardner
One day six enthused Madisonians wondered: "Where are our city's oldest streets? And what
were they before they were streets?" After a wild ride through Madison's past, they would
never view their home the same way again. Producer Benson Gardner, an alum of Wisconsin
Public Radio and local comedy favorite The Splu Urtaf Show, brings a comic, creative
sensibility to this exploration of the fascinating minds and dusty vaults in which our
history dwells. Along the way, the team interviews fascinating people like Ho-Chunk artist
Harry Whitehorse, finds cool old maps, discovers the usefulness of items called "books,"
walks stretches of road that were trails since ancient times, and indulges many an
entertaining tangent. Light refreshments follow the screening.
