Named for Nikola Tesla, who discovered the wireless radio, the street in what was the town of
Madison was orignally Tesla Terrace, but when the city annexed it in the '50s it somehow became
Telsa Terrace. That name was formalized by the City Council, but then in 1987 a third-grade
class in Michigan which had studied Nikola Tesla sent city officials a protest
letter.
