The Arthur D. Hasler Laboratory for Limnology is one of the world’s premier research facilities for the study of lakes and shorelines.
UW-Madison is known as the birthplace of limnology in North America. E.A. Birge and Chancey Juday taught the first limnology classes in 1909.
Hasler was later director of the lab.
