Fred Harvey Harrington, president, 1962-1970: Harrington oversaw the boomin construction during the 1960s, which also was the time of large-scalestudent unrest on campus during the Vietnam War. Harrington laid thegroundwork and early establishment of the University of Wisconsin System.
